As the son of Charles Hitchcock (creater of the twilight zone), Ansel Adams already had a understanding of black and white. But before his career of photography he started to learn music. His childhood was a time of him learning the piano and reading music. By the time he turned 12, he mastered the piano and could teach school children about it. When he became a photographer, he visualized a photograph called the Monolith, The Face of Half Dome. This was taken in a place where he took most of his shots; Yosemite National Park.
At parties Ansel was a person who loved to entertain. He always wanted to be the center of attention. Not only was he a photographer, but he was also a writer. When he finally wanted to do photography he stopped his music career. Ansel Adams continued to be a photographer till he died in 1984.
I chose this picture because of the contrast of gray and black. It makes the picture pop.
